/// Bio /// Showreel /// Credits /// Equipment /// Achievements /// Links BIO I am a young aspiring filmmaker that has built experience from scratch starting Autumn 2006 when I got my first digital stills camera. Two years before that I started experimenting with sound editing and music composition software such as Sony SoundForge 7, Propellerheads Reason 4, Ableton Live 7 and later ProTools.
Got into the Film & Television Production course at the University of Westminster the following Summer and started getting used to sound design and editing, which got me a lot of experience on small sets outside of University working with Final Cut Pro 6, then later camera and lighting, which did the same. My dissertation title is "Why Is Having a National Cinema Necessary? Romanian Cinema and its Audience".
I like challenges and I hope to one day become a feature film director with something of a trademark in sound usage. My first experience as a director was for my low budget experimental short about monotony in student life called “University”, which was shot in one day with DOP Thomas Nicholson.
In May 2009 I started organizing an independent short script festival, called “Scriptfest 0.1” which would later try to establish a short film school in the city of Timisoara, Romania. Together with actors from renowned theatre troupe Auăleu and the artistic community that frequents Aethernativ Café, the pilot edition took place on August 31st in that very café, with a jury of 4 able people judging the readings. After the session, “Incidentul” by Alex Iovan was proposed for production by the jury and the school started to prepare for pre-production. Further projects are blocked until the Asociaţia Bănăţeană a Cinematografiei has been established and the Scriptfest can function properly as its satellite organization. To be continued...
